Our 1 litre slug is made for performing a ‘slug test’, which enables hydraulic conductivity estimation in monitoring wells. Designed to fit within a 50mm well and displace 1L of water. Custom sizes can also be made for larger wells, or multiple slugs can be used together to displace more water in the monitoring wells.

A slug can be used for calculating hydraulic conductivity, in conjunction with a high speed datalogger.
The slug test is based on instantaneously making the water level in the bore either rise or fall, and then recording the behavior of the water level versus time as the water returns to its original position.
